Chapter 4 – Cake

That night, Gilbert makes sure to pay you a lot. It seems he is very stressed, but you get him to calm down. By the end of the hour, he is blissfully asleep.

As you get yourself settled, you hear a buzzing noise from a device on the night stand. It’s a ringer for the front door. Gilbert wakes up and drifts over drowsily to the night stand where he keeps a handgun. He then steps out of the room. Curious about who is at the door and self-assured that you will be safe inside, you follow after.

Near the front door, Gilbert inputs a code into the security system. Since you are standing nearby, you can see the whole code and take a mental note of it. He uses the camera on the security system to see that Myles is visiting for some reason. He is clearly unarmed, but it’s still a little unsettling.

Gilbert opens the door and talks to Myles. You hear that Myles is saying that they need to fix the robot to figure out who Dante’s killer is, since there were details in those scenes that were haunting him.

Gilbert asks Myles to come back in the morning because it’s snooze time, and he shuts the door.

You and Gilbert go back to bed and sleep peacefully until morning.

Chapter 3 - Cake – On day 1, you are wandering around when you notice a message in the hallway on a small monitor.

“Sabotage Opportunity 3: Dispose of 50 pounds of food from the group supply, and you may get a phone call of your choice. This phone call will take place on the day of the Elimination Match. Next opportunity to sabotage is in 3 days. You will receive the phone when you dispose of the food, and it will be activated on Sunday.”

You are shocked at the message, but it sticks in mind for hours. Disposing of food is pretty bad, but it wouldn’t be a complete disaster. And thinking about it, you actually do have some rich contacts around that you could talk to who might genuinely be able to help. You have been with some very powerful people, after all.

Two days go by. It’s the day of the EM, and you hear the announcer say something about the Garden Archipelago! You know a rich man with a summer home there! Even though your relationship with the man was strictly professional, maybe if you could get into his ear you could get him to rush over to you and help you. [We can decide on his name/occupation together or you can just come up with it, but I thought this would be cool] Since he’s right nearby and very rich, he could actually help.

It’s worth a shot. After the rules are explained, you keep watching the kitchen door and plotting your move.

During the coordinates part, you do 1/3 of the coordinates correctly for the second (Y) number. You did not lie.

During the fueling part, you excuse yourself to search for Zarmilla and Zakuro and you sneak into the kitchen. There, you take all the food bags that remain and go over to the bathroom, being careful for the others.

Inside you go to the large drain and you begin dumping the food in, bag after bag. You feel guilty but you can’t let it bother you.

Regardless, after you do that the phone drops into your hands. You tuck it in your shirt, and you leave the bathroom. You pass Lilith as you go into your room. You use the phone and call your contact on video. He picks up and you flirt with him to the max. He’s there in the archipelago! What good fortune! You don’t explain too many details, but you arrange for a meeting at the coordinates you have. You hope he listens to you.

Other than that, you notice a phone in Vera’s stuff that looks like the one you have.

Cake - You and Griffin do end up taking several baths together. His cool reporter shell melts pretty easily in your presence and he babbles on and on about crazy stuff that he’s seen and witnessed in his line of work in order to impress you. In an attempt to relate to you, he tells you that he sold his body to a prominent politician in exchange for a scoop. The level of detail makes it difficult to disbelieve. The story was about a bunch of prominent politicians being sued for money laundering, but then, even though there seemed to be a lot of truth in the suit, since some of it had been forged by the lawyer and detective, the entire thing was thrown out, and the lawyer blamed the detective he worked with. You’re used to having people open up to you, but this is a new level for sure.

I think like a group of people in active combat in the old days. Most people probably won't be more specific than that.
