Here is the BIG question: What is the maxium number of blocks that Dorothy can step on, with the block she is sitting on counted as number 1?

Hey there! I /think/ I hit the maximum. That is to say, I've been staring at this thing for a while and I sure can't figure out how to step on any more! I managed to hit 34 squares. Here's a picture of my path: http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a95/disco...cliffover34II-1.jpg

I can almost taste that pizza!

Your step from 20 to 21 is a diagonal move. These are not allowed I don't think.

Okay, so I'm a few months late, but it looks like only one person on this board had a correct solution (Bill). I therefore submit mine: http://www.gregburnsphotography.com/misc_public/solution.jpg

My e-mail address is on the front page of http://www.gregburnsphotography.com.

That book looks interesting. Here's hoping! :-)

-Greg

PS: My solution is also 34 squares. It turns out to be almost the same as Bill's, though there's a small difference, and I did do it independently.

Well, I've come across this late it seems!
I've got Dorothy stepping on 36.

With the squares being so slick, a foot could slip while the other is still in place, letting her "step" on all 39 :p
